Estheticians are licensed professionals who are experts in maintaining and improving healthy skin. An esthetician’s general scope of practice is limited to the epidermis, or the outer layer of skin.

They are educated and skilled at dealing with the needs of the skin through facials, peels, microdermabrasion and other effective and beneficial treatments.
Estheticians are also able to analyze skin conditions and suggest viable treatment options utilizing techniques and skin care products. An esthetician helps clients reach their optimal skin health through individualized treatment plans and home care products specialized to their conditions. Should a more serious skin condition be suspected, they are able to recognize this and refer the client to a dermatologist when necessary.

A facial is a treatment targeted to improve skin conditions and overall health and longevity of the skin. They are procedures that vary depending on skin type, concerns and purposes.
Facials are a way to deeply cleanse the skin to rid the pores of build-up. They most often include another crucial part of maintaining and improving any skin condition, called exfoliation. Extractions of blackheads, pustules and milia may also be performed, as well as the application of appropriate serums, mask and hydrators.
Following a treatment, you will notice definite improvement in overall skin tone, hydration level, smoothness of texture and even refinement of the pores. However, if you are looking for a drastic change this does not happen with just one visit!
Think of skin treatments as being similar to when you work with a personal trainer at the gym. After one session, you will most certainly not lose that 30lbs you’re trying to drop! It takes consistency from not only your workout routines, but from your diet as well.
The same philosophy goes for your skin! Consistent treatments and an effective home care routine are key to achieving your skin goals. It doesn’t take much and soon you won’t believe how great you look and feel. Not to mention all the compliments you will receive as well!
Think about why you go to the dentist? You can brush and floss your teeth everyday and not be able to protect them from damage and other issues that can occur.
Facial treatments are more than just washing your face and applying some creams. They are essential for skin health in that they accelerate cell turnover and provide maximum absorption of essential nutrients and other ingredients. Our skin needs this in order to prevent diseases, disorders, and further breakdown that are the effects of internal and external causes.
As we age our ability to recover and repair from damage lessens, so if we do not take care of our skin it will not take care of us. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs everything we intake and do in our surrounding environment – what we eat, sun exposure, pollution, smoke, alcohol, cosmetics, and other lifestyle choices. Whether it is to prevent or repair, facial treatments should be a necessary part of your life. Not to mention the benefits they have on the mind and soul!
Absolutely not! We are all human beings who have skin cells, right? Men and women have skin that is vulnerable to dirt, oxidative stress, cancers and skin diseases and disorders. Facial treatments are a way to remove dirt, debris and toxins from the skin, and infuse essential nutrients and ingredients to help keep your skin’s immunity up and able to fight off infection and breakdown.
In fact, most men could benefit from facials more than women as they have a history of paying less attention to the needs of their skin. See and feel the difference, and you will understand what the rave is all about.
Cosmeceutical products have several benefits that you cannot find in drugstore or department store brand products.
- Twice as effective due to a higher percentage of active ingredients
- Takes less product to see results
- Rebuild the skin (not just break it down!)
- Customizable and recommended by an educated and licensed skin care professional (esthetician)
- Highest quality research and development
Facials are recommended on a consistent basis, and the time between appointments is based on the condition and concerns of the client. Treatment plans are individualized for each client and recommended appointments are discussed during each visit.
In general, skin treatments should be performed every 4-6 weeks to maintain optimal skin health. This is about the time that the skin cells turnover in the average adult.
For mild to severe acne conditions, sun damage repair, and mature skins, every 2-3 weeks is ideal until the client has reached a level to where monthly visits are necessary.
If you are unsure of what type of treatment is best for your skin, don’t worry! Each client receives a complimentary consultation at the time of his or her first appointment to determine the most appropriate treatment. This is based on the skin type and condition of the skin, and customized to each client’s skin care goals. Everyone can benefit from facial treatments. Skin is our largest organ and therefore deserves the utmost attention and care!
This myth is most definitely not true. The hair on your face and body are predetermined to the amount, thickness, and speed of growth. Other factors can affect the hair growth however, such as vitamins and supplements and hormone changes.
Dermaplaning has several key benefits to the skin, including stimulation of collagen and elastin, circulation, firming and toning, increased benefit from products, and of course incredibly smooth, soft skin. It provides an amazing exfoliation of dead skin cells and vellus hair from the face.
Hair feels soft as it grows back in, and usually takes about 2 weeks to notice. With continued treatments, hair growth becomes slower and less-noticeable to the client. Not to mention increased firmness and improved skin tone and condition! A must-try!
Facial treatments are beneficial starting in the teenage years. A good home care routine is crucial to supplement and maximize the benefits received from treatments. As they say “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of filler.”

Kimberly is AMAZING! I had my first facial ever and I was very pleased by my experience. She has extreme knowledge of the products she is using and her presentation during the process makes you feel at ease. I recommended anyone who is looking at trying a new product to seek her advice! The facial left my skin feeling refreshed, glowing, and very, very, very, clean. Although I just started my journey with these products I can’t wait to see the results and have my skin wedding-ready. Thank you Kimberly!
